Because your time isn't free. The repo is 100% MIT - clone it yourself if you want. The $299 is for us doing the whole thing: server config, Ansible deploy, LLM wiring, Chrome extension, and a live handoff. A working system in 24–48 hours instead of a weekend of debugging.
?"We already have a SAAS solution."
We cannot migrate your existing pages as part of the install. Most teams run QHub alongside their current tool for a month, then cancel the SaaS after a manual migration. The $299 usually pays back in under 30 days.
?"Who handles updates and maintenance?"
It's your server, your stack. WikiJS and Qdrant both have simple update paths - we document the process for you. But honestly, most teams just run it and forget it.

?"What LLM does it use?"

?"What if the install doesn't work?"
We run it ourselves internally and for clients. But if the install fails on your infra, you don't pay. Payment is only requested once you confirm the system is live and working.
